NEW THEME, 100th Post: Rule of Thirds

Your assignment for Rule of Thirds100th post is to create an image or images using the rule of thirds as your guide.

The rule of thirds as defined by the Wikipedia free online dictionary:

"The rule of thirds is a compositional rule of thumb in visual arts such as painting, photography and design.

The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.

Proponents of the technique claim that aligning a subject with these points creates more tension, energy and interest in the composition that simply centering the subject would."

Good luck, Photogs!

Hi Lauri,

I left you a rule-of-thirds- photo in my blog. I use this rule a lot, of course.

Thanks for visiting me!
